Reflections on term 2

The Wheel of Brisbane, it has 42 fully enclosed gondolas.  It takes 12 minutes and in that time you have gone around at least 4 times!!!   Then at one point it stops , and we happened to be at the very very top!!  Mum was not impressed   ha ha.

My thoughts on term two:

It was busy and bustling as well as fun and friendly. The thing that I didn't like about term two was that there was so much work to do at once.  Sometimes I didn't know where to start but we got through it in the end.  So I am proud of myself for completing everything I was meant to.
I really liked how our class communicated with each other in discussions , it was nice to get feed back from my class mates as well as Sandy on my work.
I want to improve on my writing skills by being a bit more creative with my words and feeling more confident about writing.
I have improved on my maths heaps and I am finally starting to like maths , which is a huge huge thing for me, I never thought this was ever going to happen.

I look forward to term 3 , but for now I am ready for a break , my poor brain needs a rest and I think the pager system needs a rest also .   ha ha ha

So have a great holiday guys and girls see you all next term !!!

This is me and Correy , he is our school mascot who we all take turns taking to different places in the world.  We are up in the Wheel of Brisbane .......... not sure if Correy liked being up that high!!!!

Australia

Hey everyone as you all know I'm in Aussie there are lots of spiders here and every where you go you'll find spiders. Haven't seen any snakes yet I'm keeping my eyes out though. Guess what on the16th of July me and some of my relatives are going on a fishing charter yay. we are going to target Snapper, GTs,( which are giant trevally) King fish and any other fish we catch. I'm so excited I can hardly wait. Oh I almost forgot Correy is coming over yaaaaay I think that he is nervous about the spiders but they only bite if you disturb them so he will be OK. The spider in the picture is called a bird eating spider there are lots and lots of them here they can grow as big as a dinner plate so this ones only a baby freaky huh. Threy

Reflections
Correspondence is a fun and exciting way to learn and type. I have found this experience challenging in the way that I cannot type fast but am giving it my best and doing quite well.
The work that we are doing is better than ordinary school work because if we have trouble we can simply email our teacher or use Skype usually in ordinary school there is always a massive line just to speak to the teacher and I am competing to get the teachers attention with about 35 other kids!!!  When I compare how much work I did at Intermediate last year compared to this term , well what can I say , I do more work now than I did , with a lot more success and I feel excited to complete it , knowing I have Sandy at the other end if I get stuck.
Each time I work on projects or writing about subjects normally at school with all the other children I could become quite distracted, but working at home with mum we have a rule …..Look, read, focus and concentrate, and never be afraid to ask for help.
It is important to be questioned because then you can learn to improve your work and gain more knowledge. If you don’t get questioned you can get away with not learning anything and then you won’t succeed in getting a job.
Working on clash of the titans I found this quite challenging as my awesome partner Toby could not connect to Skype so we had to use emails, but sometimes Toby was not near a computer.  But we managed in the end.  I enjoyed working with someone who was not sitting next to me like we did in class.  Toby showed me how to do a Power Point Presentation, so next term I will have a go at this myself.

What I have been up to

This is some of my work from correspondence school.  I love to sketch , especially sea life and maori fish hooks.  The bottom picture is my dragon , it took me about an hour to make.

Here is my cute as a button cousin , we call her Tinka Bell

Fun in the sea !!

Here I am being thrown into the sea at Raglan ,by my awesome cousin Marc.  The bridge behind is a walking bridge only , so at least 40 kids including us were jumping off and into the sea , heaps of fun.

Our disaster preparation

My thoughts on the disaster  preparation we did is that you never really know when a disaster can hit. It just goes to show you that spending a little time getting ready now can benefit you so much in the future. But yes we do have a family escape plan we will hide under a table or door frame if an earthquake hits.  I do find at the moment while we are in a hotel waiting to head overseas we don't have a container full of anything , we don't have the space to carry it.  Mum does have an intensive first aid kit so that's cool.

Here I am with my little brother Jaydon , this is part of our first aid kit mum has , it includes lots of homeopathy drops , water purification solution , and lots more

This is me

Hi guys this is my first post on my blogg site and also my very first attempt at creating a blogg .
At the moment we are staying in a hotel , while my dad gets ready to go over to Malaysia.  He will be there for about three weeks then heads over to Quanzhou China.  We will be going to Brisbane first while Dad gets set up in China , then me , my brother and mum all head to Quanzhou.  I am looking forward to going to China , all the new sights and sounds we will see as well as the people we will meet.

We recently went down to Wellington to meet Sandy , she was so nice and it was fun to see where she works.  While we were there we went to Te Papa , as you can see in the photo we love the science area .  I'm here with my dad and little brother Jaydon.

The tour we did of the Bee Hive was pretty cool , I didn't think it was going to be but I soon changed my mind once we got inside and saw how this country is run !!  I was amused when we sat in the gallery listening to all the members of parliament , and how they were bickering amongst themselves and with each other !!
